  • The beauty of hiking is that it doesn’t require fancy gear. The main four items you’ll need are:

    Sturdy shoes. Ankle support is recommended. Broken-in hiking boots with ankle support are best.

    A backpack, daypack, or fanny pack fanny pack to hold snacks/lunch, water, and extra clothes if needed.

    Seasonal outerwear. We hike in rain, snow and cold.

    Hiking sticks are optional, but are and especially useful on winter hikes.

  • We welcome all fit women over the age of 18. Although we do not have an age limit, some trails and their terrain can be limiting. Be sure to read trail descriptions and consider the difficulty rating. We generally keep a 20 minute per mile pace. We make frequent stops to enjoy flora/fauna and to share knowledge.

    We have active women in their 70s who are able to keep pace on the hikes. We’ve had sisters and mother-daughter duos enjoy themselves immensely on these trips.

  • We rarely cancel. We will hike in the rain but not in a storm. We enjoy cold and snow but not dangerous temperatures or conditions. If weather forces us to cancel you will be notified via email by 8 am.

    If Trailbound cancels a hike due to weather, you will be issued a refund

    We require a minimum of three hikers per day trip.

    If we cancel due to low enrollment, you will be issued a refund.
