We are on a dirt trail the entire trail which has beautiful rolling hills.
Beverly Lake has a secluded picture perfect lake, stands of mature oaks and coniferous trees, and open meadows. Our trail is within the Spring Creek preserves that encompass over 4,000 acres. It has been designated as an Illinois Nature Preserve and has a very rich diversity of wildlife.
Washroom
NO Outhouse at the parking lot!! Best closest restroom is at Target, on the corner of 59 & 72.
What to Bring
Water
Hiking sticks
Boot grips: YakTrax or even better Kahtoola Microspikes
Emergency Medical Information form filled out, kept in your bag
Layers to keep warm
Waterproof ankle high hiking boots or snow shoes
Optional: warming packets for hands or feet.
Optional lunch

We meet by 9:50 am to begin hiking at 10:00am

Weather
We have fun in all kinds of weather, so we rarely postpone. If the temperature is below 0 degrees, or windchilll is below -20 degrees we will cancel. If it’s snowing too much to drive we will also cancel. Look for an email before 8am on the day of the hike for cancellations.

Near the intersection of Healy Road and Higgins.
Going west on Higgins (Rt 72) from Rt 59, drive 2.1 miles on Higgins until the preserve entrance on the northside of Higgins.
We will meet in the Parking lot at 9:45am

Each snowflake is unique due to the complex formation process as it falls through the atmosphere. Varying temperatures and humidity contribute to its individual characteristics. No two snowflakes are alike, creating a beautiful tapestry of shapes and patterns as they fall.

Cancellations
If you desire to cancel your day hike, you can reschedule for a different hike within the same season:
Please email hello@trailboundtrip.com, and state your name, and desired new hike day.
You will receive confirmation for this new day hike if there is room on the trip.
Refunds
Refunds are given when Trailbound Trips cancels a hike. Trailbound Trips will cancel and refund a hike for two reasons:
There needs to be a minimum of three people. You will be notified 24 hours in advance if this is the case.
The weather is dangerous or not bearable. You will be notified before 8 a.m. on the day of the hike via email.
