Terrain
We are on dirt trails for the entire route. Very flat.
Stillman Nature Center is a private nonprofit education center covering 80 acres of woods, lake, and prairie. It's a great spot for birds, and you'll hear them all around. The walk is about 2 miles along trails featuring spring flowers and migrating birds and ducks returning to Illinois. We will finish by visiting the rescued birds of prey for educational purposes. Mary Spreyer, a bird of prey expert, will join us to share insights about the birds at Stillman. You can expect to see a peregrine falcon, broad-winged hawk, red-shouldered hawk, and a turkey vulture. The owls include great horned, eastern, barred, barn, and snowy owl. (Birds will stay in their cages) Stillman Nature Center is giving the Trailbound women special privileges, as we will have private use of the grounds.
Washroom
No outhouse at the parking lot. There is a restroom at the end of our walk. Closest restroom might be at Target, intersection of 72 & 59.

Birds have many unique ways of building their nests each spring, or even using a discarded home from another animal for their home.
Do you have a spring ritual of cleaning or building onto your home?
Guides
Karen, aka “Carin” will lead both days.
Quote of the day
“What do you call two sets of grins?
A Peregrine” :-)
